Pageanalytics.space – Threat Behavior

Pageanalytics.space is a browser hijacker /redirector virus that trespasses into the system without user’s consent. It alters the web browser’s settings to have a free reign in the system. It does so by changing the home page and the search engine.

The purpose of pageanalytics.space is to generate money for the developers of this program through these ads. Pageanalytics.space monitors the user’s activities on the internet. It tracks the user preferences & displays unwanted and meddling Pop-ups that are designed to be attractive to the user. These ads are customized to lure the user into clicking them. Once the user clicks on these ads, they end up getting redirected to unnecessary websites.

These websites may contain links that are harmful and may generate further heuristic redirects to other websites. Most of these websites are unsafe and may download malware and infect your system.

The data collected by the pageanalytics.space virus can be sold to third parties for money by the developers. This data can be used to extort money or damage the public image of the user.

Since the web browser is compromised by the Pageanalytics.space virus, it can slow down the loading time of web pages or sometimes not load them at all. When this happens, the system resources are strained to a limit while trying to provide the user with the web page that they have opened. The strain on the system memory causes the web browser to lag and sometime freeze. This can cause the browser application to crash.

Once the system memory is hogged by the browser for its increased functions, the other system applications thrive for resources and may not perfrom at par.

The Pageanalytics.space browser hijacker is distributed via different methods such as spam mail, fake update notifications, torrent files and free software bundles.
